You’ve probably seen WordPress and other websites lately that have a very slick-looking effect when you scroll down a page where a “background” image seems to lag the scrolling of other elements on the page.
This is called a “Parallax” Effect. Technically, a parallax effect is a trick on the eyes where as the viewpoint moves up and down, the objects in the distance appear to move more slowly than the objects close to the camera (image credit: Nathaniel Domek)
Here’s a tutorial (and template) that shows you how we can replicate this effect as a PowerPoint transition:
